N.C. Governor Pat McCray invited N.C. Chinese American Elites to visit his Governor mansion

Wednesday afternoon, North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory invited Chinese Americans in North Carolina to his Governor mansion. 12 Chinese American elites visited lead by Chairman John Wei of Chinese America Economic & Culture Association (CAECA). They are CAECA President Meng Li, CAFA-NC Executive board Jianping Yang, NCCBA Senior Vice President Candong Chen, NCCSEA President Zhaohui Wang, Asian Focus President Lily Chan, Entrepreneur Kevin Li, Entrepreneur Lisa Huang, General Manager Roger Yiu, Real Estate Tycoon Hannah Chan and her husband Leo Chan, Journalist Jack Wang, they received warmly welcome by Governor McCrory and had a group photo taken to mark the significant moment.

Governor McCrory previously served a record 12 years as the 53rd Mayor of the city of Charlotte with tremendous achievements, he was elected as 74th Governor of North Carolina since 2013, CAECA Chairman John Wei was being refered to Governor McCrory shortly before his election by former Senator Speaker pro temp Harris Blake. Governor McCrory built up profound relationship with Chairman John Wei who had been invited to the Governor¡¯s mansion with other Chinese elites since Governor McCrory in office, to this day they finally visit.

Twelve Chinese elites arrived at 5pm, Governor McCrory waited and warmly embraced every visitor, he was so happy when he met Meng Li and Jack Wang from Charlotte where he was a Mayor for 12 years.

Chairman John Wei and President Meng Li of CAECA represented all Chinese American handed Governor McCrory two gifts, Chinese Opera face patterns and a red tie with pandas on it. Governor appreciated and cherished these precious gifts, he is a huge fan of Chinese culture, he was excited when having a ¡°cute¡± panda tie and can¡¯t wait to wear it, then he wore the Chinese panda tie to next activity of Agriculture Department on that evening.

Governor McCrory prepared delicate desserts, biscuits, cakes and all kinds of beverages to show his hospitality to Chinese.

After meeting with Chinese American elites, Governor expressly told his mansion director David Robinson to tour them around. he is so delighted to see Chinese guests today and he decided to open second floor-tour which in his governor history till now, merely opened six times, he wanted to show his affections to Chinese Americans by this privilege. All twelve Chinese American elites felt great honor and showed gratitude to Governor McCrory, by the way, they are proud of themselves who did great contributions to enter into American mainstream society and to Chinese Americans involving into N.C. Politics.                    

The Governor¡¯s Palace was built in downtown Raleigh, at the cross street of Blount and E Jone St, the current Governor Mansion covers about five acres with more than fifty rooms, it has more than 120 years history which was begun in 1883 and completed in 1891 in the Queen Anne gingerbread cottage style of Victorian architecture. It has 36000 squire feet of living, office, basement, and storage indoor areas. Most of the building materials for the house are North Carolina products. The mansion¡¯s main floor (the public floor) is decorated in rich greens, burgundy, and gold with period furniture, all previous governors¡¯ pictures and decorations from across North Carolina , it has the main guest room, grand library, gorgeous dining room and kitchen. Governor McCrory displayed an oil painting with the image of an absolutely lifelike cute dog which has been adopted and remain to be his family¡¯s favorite.  

Second floor has the First Family¡¯s living rooms, First Lady¡¯s office and several guest rooms. There is a special picture hang on the corner captured Chinese Americans elites¡¯ eyes. It was a black and white picture with a perky pilot fly a plane. Daved Robinson said the handsome man in picture is First Lady¡¯s father, it was the precious one taken from his period when he served the U.S. Air Force.

After visit, Ms.Hannah Chan felt great honor and said: ¡° My pleasure to visit the Governor¡¯s Mansion, we can feel Governor¡¯s high culture artistic appreciation from all art works displayed in house taken from NC Art Gallery. The Governors snatch a little leisure from their busy life to keep on the reading habit and keep on holding the Bible study group in Mansion to pray for our North Carolina . As local residents, we should keep on praying for our state too, we wish that our Governor McCrory will lead North Carolina being praised by all of our people, we wish our NC state a bright future on our economy and on every thing!¡±
